Just like in love, emotions are not the best judge because emotions can change, so also with respect to money, your ability to have the handle on your emotions will go a long way to shaping your financial  destiny.  I was having a discussion with one of my business partners on a project we were working on in 2008 and he shared with me what I think would also help many of us in our businesses, workplaces and lives.

Man is a brain-powered creature. This is one notable difference between us and other lower creatures. In fact, other creatures are lower than man because they are not endowed with intelligence and imagination like us. The brain is an important part of the human makeup. It is one visible object that creates invisible objects. For instance, the brain is visible but it is an organ through which ideas, imagination, brainchildren, etc, are born. And these items are invisible. I can’t see your ideas; neither can I see your imagination. But they are real even though they may be invisible.

When the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) under the leadership of Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar began their organised series of rallies against the Federal Government’s plan to deregulate the downstream sector of the Nigerian oil industry one and a half months ago, little did they know that the core unions in the oil sector, NUPENG and PENGASSAN, would make a U-turn weeks later. The decision this week by the two powerful oil unions to reconsider their stance on deregulation after ten years of battling against it came as a surprise to many.
