Ahead of the Sunday cracker between United States of America and United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Gateway International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, security has been intensified in the ancient town.
The game scheduled to kick-off by 4.00pm is the last group E match of the ongoing 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup as the State will be hosting its first game since the championship kicked-off on October 24th, 2009.
The USA AND UAE had their first two matches of the championship with the duo of European, Spain and their counterpart from Africa, Malawi at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano respectively before been moved for their last game.
Trustsports findings at the Ijebu-Ode center revealed that adequate security has been provided by the host, in the process assuring a hitch match.
However, some of the expectant spectators who spoke to Trustsports at the venue decried the way FIFA grouped some matches to their state, adding that they have been waiting eagerly to watch live youth soccer actions rather than watching on televisions.
“We can no longer wait for the soccer actions as we are expecting to see young kids in action on Sunday; we are tired of watching the matches on TV and listened to radio. Ogun State is sports loving State and law abiding citizens,” a fan said.
