Weightlifting coach talk tough

Ahead of Friday’s trip by Nigerian weightlifters to Egypt, where they will take part in the qualifiers of the Youth Olympic Games billed for Singapore, national coach, Bassey Patrick is filled with confidence that the lifters are prepared to do the country proud.

He noted in an interview with brilafm.net that the 10 selected junior lifters (seven females and three males) are capable of winning slots for Nigeria from their campaign in The Land of The Pharaohs.

“With all optimism, we’ve been able to do prepare well and I believe we can do the country proud in Egypt. The team is ready.

“I want to assure Nigerians that the team is capable psychologically and physically. The ten chosen junior lifters have what it takes to do well in Egypt,” he assured.
