NBBF North/ West Rep sponsors tourney, clinic

The charge by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) to its zonal representatives to give back to their zones is yielding good fruit as the representative of the Northwest zone, Mustapha Suleiman is sponsoring a one-week tournament for youth teams.

The one-week tourney will dunk-off in Kano on Saturday and will be followed by a clinic for the teeming youths in the zone.
Northwest consists of Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa states.
Suleiman said the tourney is long overdue and pleaded with the youths from the zone for understanding.
He, however, reiterate his commitment to the complete development of the game from the grassroots in the zone.
NBBF president, Alhaji Tijjani Umar praised the effort of the Noirthwest Zonal representative for coming up with the lofty idea of sponsoring the tourney and clinic in his zone.
The NBBG boss who made the disclosure at the end of the Executive Board meeting of the board in Abuja on Thursday called on other zonal representatives on the board to take the interest of the youths at heart.
He disclosed that such tournaments and clinics would go a long way in assisting the NBBF to have an all-inclusive programme as the federation cannot do it alone.
