The General Co-ordinator of second placed Gombe United FC, Mallam Farouk Yarman has assured that his team is in Port-Harcourt to add to the misery of Dolphins FC who lost their week three encounter 0-1 to local rivals, Sharks FCare currently occupying the sixth position on the league table.
It is only a point that separates the two teams. Gombe United has garnered seven points to place second while Dolphins who defeated Plateau United on the opening day of the league have six points and are in the sixth position.Speaking to Trustsports ahead of today’s match, the General Co-ordinator of the Desert Scorpions said his team is highly motivated by the fact that it has never gotten a bad result against Dolphins.
He said even last season, Gombe United went to Port-Harcourt and held Dolphins FC to a 1-1 and this time also, the story will not be different.
Yarman said the worst result that Gombe will get from the match against Dolphins is a draw as he totally ruled out defeat for his side.
According to him, Gombe United FC has been riding high since the commencement of the season and no team will find it easy against them.
“As far as I am concerned, this is our season. It has never been so good with us. Everything is working according to plan and I don’t see Dolphins disrupting our smooth ride. The worst result we are going to get tomorrow (today) is a draw. Dolphins can not beat us.
They have never found it easy against us. Even last season, we held them to a 1-1 draw and this time also, the story will not be different. We are fully ready for them.
Yarman hinged his team’s impressive performances on the arrival of Coach Bernard Ogbe whom he described as highly experienced and tactical.
He said the team’s handler has handled many premier league clubs and is equipped with the requisite knowledge and experience to lead Gombe United to the league trophy this season.
“We are doing well because we have the right man at the helm of the coaching crew. Coach Ogbe is an experienced coach. He has the technical acumen to lead us to victories this season. He has brought a new spirit in the playing staff and every player is ready to work harder”.
