Shooting Stars coach, Fatai Amoo, says he is ready to unleash another youngster on the Nigeria Premier League.
Amoo stated that the youngster, Jonathan Onyebuchi, will be another revelation like Chima Akass, who has scored twice in his first season.“Onyebuchi is a promising youngster that will shine like Akass. He has no previous league experience, but he is extremely talented. Onyebuchi can play anywhere in the attack,” he informed SuperSport.com.
Amoo expressed excitement at the performance of the Akass and Onyebuchi.
“Young players are usually hungry to attain stardom. It’s the duty of coaches to develop them,” he noted.
The former Super Eagles assistant coach attributed the failure of youngsters to blossom in domestic clubs to impatience on the part of coaches.
“I have the ability to notice young players and bring out the best in them. I developed several young players at my former team, Julius Berger. Players like Odion Ighalo, Kim Ojo, Yusuf Babatunde and Seun Falodun were all untested when I signed them at Julius Berger.
“Today, it’s a different story. A good coach must have patience with young players. Nigerians also have to be patient with youngsters,” he said.
Shooting Stars have enjoyed a good start this term under the former Super Eagles assistant coach.
Amoo’s army will head for Kano Pillars in continuation of their quest for the NPL title, this weekend.
