Only qualified athletes will make it to P/H -Orngu

Head of Coaching and Training at the Benue State Sports Council, Coach David Orngu has assured that only those who participated in the zonal eliminations and qualified in their events would make the list to the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital in June this year.
Coach Orngu who said the council has started making entries for the National Sports Festival, however said those that were entered but did not qualified will not make the final list and therefore advised athletes to intensify their efforts and show commitment during training sessions so as to justify government sponsorship.He said that Governor Suswam’s offer of employment opportunities to more than 141 sportsmen and women with over 91 performing athletes this year must be reciprocated by winning medals at the forthcoming National Sports Festival for Benue. In a related development, the management of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi has appointed ace Sports Reporter Jack Moses Ekwe-Ekwe as the General Coordinator of the Club with immediate effect.
Although the duties of the appointee are not yet know but feelers are that he may take charge of press matters among other duties as may be assigned to him by the Club’s Vice Chairman Mr. Dominic Iorfa.
The Vice Chairman has also recalled players of Lobi Stars from their break to enable them start preparation for the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier League which is to commence next month.
