“The only thing I have on my mind is winning. Yes winning, outright winning. That is not to say we are underrating the Liberians. They are a good side but right now winning is all we are thinking of because the Liberian side is not a bad team that is why we need outright victory so as to qualify for the next round”.
Eguavoen added “A lot of your colleagues have referred to the treatment we got in Monrovia asking if we would pay the Liberians back when they arrive Nigeria? And I say yes, but that revenge would be on the pitch because that is how it should be”.
The Former Super Eagles Coach was however quick to warn his wards not to be over confident ahead of the game.
“Like I have told my boys, we need to win this game convincingly. I have also told them to approach the game like it is the first leg and there is no need to play a return leg and that means winning the game convincingly. Mind you that does not mean they should show complacency, we must remain focused until the final whistle”, Eguavoen stated.
The technical crew yesterday morning took the duo of Nnamdi and Harmony for a fitness session.

National U-23 Chief Coach Austin Eguavoen has declared that the only thing on his mind ahead of today’s second leg second round All Africa Games qualifier against the Liberian U-23 side is victory. He however said the Dram Team will not underrate their opponents, stressing that the Liberians are a good side that needs to be taken seriously so as to avoid upset.“The only thing I have on my mind is winning.
