VVV-Venlo attacking winger, Ahmed Musa has told SuperSport.com he is keen to feature for the Nigerian Under23s in the Olympic qualification billed to kick off in Morocco on November 26.
Musa, 19, stated that he is hoping that his Dutch club will give him the nod to join up with the Under23 side.“I have not been told to go and join the U-23 team. I cannot leave without permission though I want to play in the Olympic qualifiers for my country. The people here at Venlo have been good to me since I arrived and they need me as well.
“But if I am allowed to go and join the Under23 team I will do so as I want to play for my country at every opportunity,” Musa said.
However, VVV-Venlo may have decided to hold back Musa considering the fact that the Olympic qualification also referred to as the Caf Under23 Championship is not on Fifa’s schedule.
Also on November 26 when Nigeria face hosts, Morocco, VVV-Venlo will be taking on Graafschap at home.
Musa has scored three goals for his Dutch club this season.
