The club in a statement signed by its Media Officer John Adams said in as much as the club will not want to join issues with the player, there is the need to put the record straight.
Adamu said it is unfortunate that after the state government had spent N18million on the treatment of the player within and aboard, he could come out to accuse the club and the government of abandoning him.
“We are surprise that after all that the Niger State government did to keep him alive, he is still accusing the government of not showing concern. The records for all his medical treatment in Germany are there for all to see.
“The state government initially approved N13million for his treatment and while in Germany, another N5million was approved. We expect him to show appreciation to the government gesture because no government or club in the country can do what Niger State government has done towards ensuring that the player lives.
“We saw in this country how players who have done the country proud are abandoned during injury or death, but for a state government to have spent this huge amount is worth commending. No government or club in this country has done what we have done for this player and all this is because we take the welfare of players with all seriousness. We attached so much importance to their welfare”, Adams stated, pointing out that it the player should know that he did not sign a life contract with the Niger Tornadoes.

The management of Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna has described former U-17 young star Joshua Daniel as an ingrate following his recent remark that the Niger State Government and the club abandoned him during his travail. Reacting to a report in the media (not Daily Trust) where the former Eaglet player accused both the government and the management for not showing concern towards him after he was involved in a motor accident that damaged his spinal cord, the management said the player’s accusation was but a show of ungratefulness.The club in a statement signed by its Media Officer John Adams said in as much as the club will not want to join issues with the player, there is the need to put the record straight.
