Wrestling boss sure of Olympics medals

The wrestling team with already four qualification tickets to the London 2012 Olympics in its kitty has promised to win medals for Nigeria at the London Games.

President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Austin Udeze said the wrestlers are not just qualifying but to go to London and bring home medals.

He revealed that their plan is to compete successfully and win medals for the country adding that to achieve this; they would put together some strategies aimed at training the wrestlers well to win medals.

Udeze said to achieve this, the athletes will soon go to camp and after that embark on training tour to an environment outside the country where they will have better facilities.

He also disclosed that the team will still feature in two more qualification competitions in China in April and May in May with a chance of picking two more additional slots to the existing four for the Olympics.

“Our target is to feature six wrestlers at the games. And we are still going to present these athletes to their states of origin with their medals at the African Senior Wrestling Championship in Marrakesh, Morocco,” he said.
