“But, definitely it is wrong, that is the point awe are making, but you can see that we have a peculiar situation with the NFF; they will tell you that they are not like other parastatals, they will also tell you that they have certain statutes that they play with, which we all respect.
“The question is that does any organization in this country whether government or private have the right to bring in an individual to work in this country with our children without the government knowing anything about it, and the answer is no.
“If Mr President calls me today and ask, I will say Mr. President I don’t know because it is part of the organizations I don’t need to know”, Abdullahi stated.

Sports Minister Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has described the decision by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to engage Belgian Tom Saintfiet as the country’s Technical Director without government knowledge as wrong. Abdullahi, who was speaking at a one-day retreat on ‘understanding extant rules’ for staff in the National Sports Commission, noted that as a parastatal in the country, government has the right to know all its activities, including hiring of expatriates to work in the country.He however said, efforts are being made by the Commission to ensure a smooth working relationship between the Commission and parastatals under it in order to achieve lofty goals.
