NRA lauds Dankwambo on AGM

Speaking to Trustsports, the NRA Secretary General, Prince Moroof Oyekunle Oruwa commended the state governor for ensuring the success of the AGM.
He said it was the best meeting the association has held in recent times as over 97% of the expected delegates were in attendance.
Oruwa disclosed that key decisions which included the setting up of a Referees Academy by the NRA were taken at the AGM.
According to the secretary the government of Gombe State has since thrown its weight behind the laudable plan which he said is aimed at getting youths to referee the game since it is played mostly by young people.
“It was a highly successful AGM. It was the best we had in recent times. The governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo gave us all the necessary support to organize the AGM.
“In fact he graciously accepted to provide support for one of the decisions we took at the meeting which is the establishment of a Referees Academy. We want to start catching referees young because the game is played by young people.
Oruwa said the AGM also called on football authorities in the country to provide a conducive atmosphere for Nigerian referees to thrive.
He said Nigerian referees are among the best in the world but have continually faced harsh conditions which militate against them.
Represented by his Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Jalo Abubakar Bajoga, the governor of Gombe State urged NRA to go ahead with its plan to float an academy as he said it is the surest way to identifying and developing quality referees.
The governor promised to give unflinching support to the laudable project whenever it commences.

The leadership of the Nigeria Football Referees Association, NRA has lauded the government of Gombe State under Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo for graciously hosting its Annual General Meeting.
