Tornadoes players get N20m sign-on fees

At the ceremony, performed in the office of the state Commissioner for Sports Development, Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi alongside the executive members of the Tornadoes management committee, Abdullahi says the decision is aimed at keeping the players in high spirit before the end of the league season.
The 40% of the money paid out to players, which totalled N20million was paid to the players before their Nigeria Premier League home tie visiting Kwara United at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, which they (Tornadoes) won 3-1.
Speaking at the occasion, Abdullahi thanked the players and the coaching crew for their patience and understanding with the state government since the commencement of the season and said that no player would be owed a dime because government is committed to moving the club forward.
According to him “the chief Servant of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu is highly committed to the welfare of players who are doing the state proud and would therefore not allow their agreement with the state to stay for too long, that is why we have started the payment process today and we would continue in this direction”.

The Niger State government at the weekend made good its promise by paying 40% sign-on fees to all the players and coaches of Nigeria Premier League side, Niger Tornadoes of Minna.
