“ The feat is as a result of the overwhelming support we got from the Sports Ministry who sent us on many trips before the Games. We were are the World Championship and Olympics qualifier where my wards broke African records,” he said.
He said apart from Adesokan, more medals would come from other members of the Power lifting team.
“The support has been massive from the Sports Ministry. We have been on foreign trips in Korea and China to sharpen skills for the Games and we cannot afford to disappoint Nigerians,” he added.
Nigeria’s first gold was won by Yakubu Adesokan in powerlifting in the men’s 48kg class when he lifted 180kg on the opening day.

Following the heroics of gold medalists, Yakubu Adesokan and Ivory Nwokorie at the ongoing London 2012 Paralympics, coach of Power lifting, Feyisetan Are has promised the country more medals.
