2013 AFCON: Iorfa warns against frivolous predictions

Former international, Mr. Dominic Iorfa Mtem has called on Nigerian football pundits to desist from making what he described as frivolous predictions which cannot help the Super Eagles in their quest for a third AFCON title.
The vice-chairman and technical adviser of Lobi Stars who declined to speak on the chances of the Super Eagles instead advised that instead of making sweeping predictions at every given opportunity, football analysts should tread cautiously.Speaking to Trustsports, the former Queens Park Rangers of England striker said it is the desire of every patriotic Nigerian to see the Super Eagles do well in South Africa but that should not be enough for even well informed football pundits to begin to make certain predictions.
He said instead of making predictions which may be misleading, such people should wait for the Nations Cup to commence or even wait for it to be over before they can draw conclusions.
“Like any other well meaning Nigerian, I want the Eagles to do well at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. However, I am not in the habit of talking for talking sake. I don’t think some of the predictions being made about the Super Eagles can be misleading.
“I look at some recent predictions by even well respected football pundits as frivolous. Sometimes, people talk so as to be noticed. This is not the time to start saying Eagles will win this or that or will not do well. It is unnecessary. This is not the right time”, he said.
