It was Ibraheem Suleiman who advised in the New Nigerian during the 80s that “We should acknowledge the predominance of Allah over all human affairs and take that into account in all your endeavours.
For in most cases we find that after expending all our efforts and energy we come to realize at the very last moment that we are but achieving the opposite of what we have desired. For how often do we find people rising to eminence and achieving their goals only after they have been killed, or how others are launched into fame and greatness by the oppressive actions of their enemies? The lesson here is that Allah has a purpose for every human being he has created and that the whole of mankind is not in a position to frustrate that purpose even if they should combine all their efforts in that direction. That’s because as Allah has himself stated, Allah always prevails. It is really puzzling to see how some people can go to any length in expressing their hatred of someone. Writing under the caption, “Can Yuguda deliver the North-East to Jonathan”? Which appeared in the Weekly Trust edition of Saturday, October, 30, One Ibrahim Adamu, falsely and mischievously charged that the Bauchi State PDP has decided to dump Yuguda and in effect President Jonathan’s presidential ambition! His main grouse is with Yuguda and his sinister motive was to present the governor as incapable as a leader, talk less of delivering the North-East to President Jonathan in 2011. But Adamu and his paymasters are building castles in the air and like a pack of cards, it will soon collapse!
For the avoidance of doubt, there was no time the PDP in Bauchi State ever sat, deliberated and took decision to endorse the presidential ambition of General Ibrahim Babangida. The fact is what deputy governor Babayo Garba Gamawa said on receiving the former head of state during a courtesy call by the latter, has now been turned into a celebrated speech by those who are blood-thirsty and are eagerly looking forward to extract a pound of Yuguda’s flesh. When the opportunity came, the die-hard enemies did not even care to ponder on whether the deputy governor was really speaking the position of the PDP or that of his mind. But as Sanusi Muhammed, the SSA to governor Yuguda on Media said, Gamawa’s comment on Babangida was not the official position of the government and people of Bauchi State, as the state remains committed to the presidential ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan. What else do the detractors want?
To continue the campaign of calumny and destroy Yuguda of course! It has now reached a point where even if a woman has a miscarriage it will be attributed to Yuguda, simply ignoring the fact that Yuguda as a governor and coordinator of Jonathan’s campaign is just part of a whole. Today nobody talks of the secretary to the government of the federation as being a part and parcel of Jonathan’s presidential ambition, nobody talks of the FCT minister as being a part and parcel of Jonathan’s presidential ambition, and nobody talks of other notable and eminent core-northerners as part of the Jonathan presidential train. The talk about Jonathan’s presidential bid, for good or bad, starts and ends with Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state!
Elsewhere in his piece of hypocrisy, Adamu wrote, “Although I doubted the capability of Governor Yuguda making any impact in the campaign of the president immediately I heard of his appointment as coordinator, I would be happy to offer a sincere advice. But sincere advice was not what Adamu had in mind and stored in his heart which is full of hatred and ill-will. If Adamu is sincere he should not had doubted the capability of Yuguda in many respects. Yuguda had been a long-time achiever many years before the Bauchi people dragged him into politics. Yuguda’s credentials in the private and public sector, which showed his capability is not open to question. A small fraction of such capability was Yuguda’s single largest contribution in raising the Bauchi state PDP from its infant stage to maturity. Who is Adamu and what contribution did he make to the growth of the PDP in Bauchi State that he is making so much fuss about in the name of offering sincere advice? Like the wolf in sheep cloth, Ibrahim wants the world to believe in his sincere advice, and in a vain effort wishes to convince the Presidency and Jonathan’s presidential campaign team of Yuguda’s incapability in delivering the North-East. This indeed is a slap to the collective intelligence of President Jonathan and all those who were behind the appointment of Yuguda as coordinator for the North-East. If Ibrahim Adamu was so important, he should have been consulted on the proper choice for the post of coordinator and he should have offered his ‘sincere’ advice. As at the time of offering his ‘sincere’ advice, Adamu had not offered to provide an alternative to Yuguda. Is that not a case of a solution looking for problem?
Yuguda is well in charge and those masquerades trying to deceive the people should accept the bitter fact that no amount of threat, blackmail and hatred of a single man by Adamu or his sponsors will change things. They cannot speak on behalf of the people because they have no connection with the grassroots. Their stock-in-trade has been to ride on the backs of the poor and the downtrodden, sucking their poverty-stricken blood like the bloody parasites that they are. Yuguda came and gave hope to the poor first by making them to assert their power of the vote in 2007. The Bauchi people are very much grateful to Yuguda for this singular act of sacrifice for the liberation of the poor man from the bondage of servitude. Apart from making noise and raising unnecessary alarm through the pages of newspapers, what has Adamu done to match the undisputable feat of Yuguda in respect of helping the poor man in Bauchi State? Adamu have no right to pass judgment on whether Yuguda has won or lost the confidence of the people. It was Adamu and his feudal masters who lost such confidence of the people about three and half years ago. That’s not the way to vie for the seat of coordinator for Jonathan in the North- East which is clearly what Adamu is fronting for his paymasters.
