It is noteworthy that at a time when the image of Ebira people is at its lowest ebb because of the war of attrition that has taken over our land in the last few years, a body like the Kogi Central Civil Society Groups will host an award to recognise eminent role models for the youths to emulate. This recognition will go a long way to portray Ebiras in the eyes of other Nigerains as achievers and high flyers in contrast to the negative news that have emanated from the land time and again.I want to salute the visionary gestures of this group and urge them to unite with other progressive forces in Ebiraland to wrestle power from the politicians that have taken over our land whose stock in trade seems to be exploitation of clannish differences for personal aggrandisement.
Suffice it to say that hardwork, vision, courage, loyalty, unity of purpose and commitment to the common good were the heritage that our noble ancestors bequeathed to us. I want to crave the indulgence of this group to take the challenge of addressing the collapse of education in Ebiraland because that is the only way we can rectify the wrong of the past and prepare for the future.
