Up for grabs by the expected winners are prizes which include three Hyundai Accent automobiles and three plots of land in choice areas in Abuja, among others.
The organizers during the week had a mini talent hunt in Abuja with over a hundred contestants participating. They were pruned down to ten out of which five won prize winners. The rigorous selection of the final winners done by a three man panel headed by flamboyant female musician Yinka Davies with input from the seated audience also. On hand to add comic relief at the event was fast rising Nollywood actor, Sunday Williams. The Shyne band was equally available to add flavor to the occasion with exhilarating tunes.
According to the General Manager of Festrut, Mr Ken Ogidi, the event was a foretaste of the grand event. “The nation and indeed the continent are rich in abundant human musical talents. At our own level we are committed to identifying such potential stars and helping them to become instant celebrities,” he told Weekly Trust.

Plans have been concluded for the pilot phase of anther Africa talent hunt which is to commence in August this year. The talent hunt which will be a reality show is to identify budding stars in the music scene across the continent.
