10 rappers in ‘Battle of the Emcees’

Ten rappers have emerged successful for the Battle of the Emcees competition after the screening of entries from rappers across Nigeria who submitted their freestyles on an instrumental produced by rapper-producer Tha Suspect.

The competition which kicked off in April had hundreds of upcoming rappers submit their entries for the challenge, which is a new online competition for young and upcoming rappers. It  is being organized to discover the next generation of rappers in Nigeria.

Organizers said the ten best entries will contend at a live event before popular Nigerian music artistes and other music industry players where they will be judged according to their performances.

The judges include DoktaFrabz, Tha Suspect, Baby-Fresh, DX Snipes, Kore Brown and Cool FM OAPs Kaylah and Dotun.

The initiative which came after a successful outing which saw some Nigerian artistes, managers and other entertainment industry heads discuss and proffer solutions on some issues troubling the Nigerian artiste, ‘Dear Artiste’ is back with a new initiative.

The event is scheduled for May 25th, 2012 at the Club Scintilla, in Lagos and will be hosted by the project’s creator, Fola ‘4Lah’ Folayan.
