Our concern now is to prepare well for next season -Adepoju

Despite the clarion call for the present chief coach of 3SC Football Club, ex-international Franklin Howard to be sacked, the General Manager and Technical Director of the club, Mr. Mutiu Adepoju has said the club’s priority for now is not hiring another coach but preparing the team very well ahead of next season.

Reports emanating from the camp of the club indicated that the former junior international had since fallen out of favour with the fans of the Ibadan based football club following the clubs draws at home against Bendel Insurance FC and Prime of Oshogbo in last season’s campaign.

However, when he spoke to Trustsports on phone, former Super Eagles striker, Mutiu Adepoju said to the best of his knowledge, no decision has been taken on the issue of new coach for the club just as he hinted that even if a new coach is to be engaged, it won’t be so soon.

He acknowledged that there have been calls for a new coach to be employed but the management of the club is more concerned with preparing the club for better performance in the coming season.

Adepoju noted that taking about a new coach when preparations for the new season are in progress would amount to unnecessary distraction.

“No decision has been taken on the issue. We are not thinking about it for now. What we want is to prepare well for the coming football season. Even if we are going to hire a new coach, I don’t think it will be now that we have a serious task at hand”

He said the club has resumed training for the next season and everything humanly possible would be done to get the team in shape for the new season.

Adepoju hinted that few players who will add value to the team would be recruited to join the club which is he said is poised to take the Nigerian Premier League by storm next season.

I do not intend to tamper with the team but we would have to bring in few players in some areas. Already we have identified some players we hope to bring into the team. By the time we are through with our pre season training, we would be ready for the season.

The former player of 3SC assured the club’s teeming fans of a good outing as he stated that everything would be done to put the players in shape for the challenges ahead.
