In two separate letters written to the Edo State PDP chairman, Chief Dan Orbih and the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the last election; Charles Airhiavbere, the party chairman acknowledge the efforts made by the duo to ensure victory for the party in the last gubernatorial election.
Tukur in the letters dated 19th July, 2012, says he identifies with the effort made by the party to reclaim the state.
He encouraged the party chairman and the candidate to ensure the party remains intact as he says the national secretariat of the party is restrategising to build on the commitment of the party at the state.

National chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has assured the PDP in Edo State of the support of the national secretariat of the party, despite losing the gubernatorial elections last week.
